Pine Island Area Historical Society

Our Mission To locate and collect any material which may help to establish or illustrate the history of the Pine Island MN area; to disseminate historical information to interested persons, groups and institutions; and to accomplish these goals through the establishment of clearly defined collection, conservation and interpretation policies.

Annual Holiday Open House Saturday, November 14, 2026 10 am-4 pm Cookies, Coffee & Cider Galen Lorenz will display his collection of coffee tins & coffee cans. He will be available to visit with you about the history of coffee. A colorful collection you won't want to miss! Jerry Vettel will display his collection of old street signs. Jerry will be presenting " Old Streets of Pine Island" from 2:00-3:00 pm in the main entrance room. We look forward to seeing you there!

Pine Island Murals The mural on the left was painted in 1992 and was removed when the 301 Apartments were built on Main Street in 2018. The mural on the right was painted in 2026 at Waletzko Park (behind Island Market)
